Interviews

  • On 2/23/2009, Evy Metal interviewed Monody. The audio interview as well as a write up and pictures can be found here.

Airplay

  • On 5/14/2008, Portland’s 94.7 KNRK opened its Get Local segment with an introduction to Monody, and played the track Ceti Lullaby. The segment is available on the Audio page.

  • On 1/24/2008, OPB featured a segment on construction in downtown Portland, Oregon. Daniel (who works near a large construction site) was interviewed about creative uses of much of the noise that is heard, by taking a particular sound of a pile driver and including it into a demo of an upcoming Monody track called Beneath Andromeda. Expect to hear this track and a number of others in our forthcoming album, or on a stage near you.

Quotes

  • "...It is hard to put into words my feelings when Monody began their set - it was kind of like finding a 2 carat diamond ring in your box of Cracker Jacks - I became an instant fan. In late March, we were finally able to do an interview and I can say I am even a bigger fan now.  This is a band that takes their craft seriously, they work hard and expect a lot of themselves.  They brought me a CD that has been listened to every day since I got it; I listen with my headphones on when I can so I can take in all the layers - this music is lush, gorgeous and beautiful.  I hope you enjoy getting to know Monody - they are truly exceptional." - Evelyn from Evy Metal's interview of Monody - 3/8/2009

  • "...Monody which is a unknown favorite of mine..." - Drew from Ghost Motor's PDX Darkside Interview - 9/30/08

  • "Couple more hours into rotation this week. Tracks from Assemblage 23 and Mechanical Moth are featured, along with remixes from VNV Nation, Rotersand, and several others. We're also introducing several tracks from Monody, whose work is reminiscent of Seabound in many ways. Keep an eye out for "Ceti Lullaby" in particular if you're at all into sci-fi, and see if you catch the sample faster than I did." - Mirrorshades Radio Blog post - 10/30/08
